Walberg & Auge Cornet - Worcester
I cannot find much on this maker. I did note a web listing for a Walberg and Auge folding bass drum, patented in 1909. Another web posting refers to the Walberg & Auge Perfection catalog of 1915. Apparently, this company was quite the leader in mechanisms for drum sets. This beautiful cornet plays in modern/low pitch Bb and A. The bell engraving is quite stunning.
Although it appears that the valves have never been rebuilt, they have enough compression to make this cornet quite playable. The silver plate finish is largely intact. There are signs of prior dent removal, but only minor dents remain. The tuning slide A stop rod is missing.
No case of mouthpiece is included.
